This item opens on a hinge (top of the enhancer) and pendants slide easily onto the trapeze-like bar (bottom part of the enhancer) and the enhancer snaps securely shut. It can snap onto various widths of Necklaces/Pearls/Beaded Style /Leather/Rubber and any other thick style Necklaces, without having to fit over large bails
